A Day at Aquinnah

Dario, Josh, Lauren and I took the ferry over to Martha's vineyard to give our Presentation on Fire/Emergency Services to the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head/Aquinnah.

It was a pleasure and privilege to work for the Tribe.  We enjoyed the day immensely.

The day started with delicious coffee and croissants on Cape Cod before boarding the ferry.

The Aquinnah lighthouse.  Due to the chalk cliffs eroding around it, it is being shifted approx 140 feet inland. They are going to dig under it, put rollers down and roll it to the new position!!!

The trees have not yet turned green - Spring is late.

The bark is put on the tribal traditional meeting house in winter and removed and replaced with deer skins during summer.

Lauren, Dario and me with the delightful young ranger Michael, who amused us by pointing out all his cousins and aunties that we saw out and about - he is related to everybody!!
